July Wardly eNewsletter

JULY HIGHLIGHTS

On the Serious Side: July was a busy month for our little community. Our dedicated police officers have been actively patrolling the streets both in vehicles and on foot, significantly reducing misdemeanor crimes and activities. Meanwhile, our Public Works Department has been hard at work on various projects, including repaving roads, cleaning parks, maintaining the water system, and more. A heartfelt thank you to both departments for your exceptional efforts and commitment.

On the Lighter Side: Thank you to everyone who attended the annual Ward 5 block party earlier this month; we had an incredible turnout! As we continue to work on enhancing safety in our community, it’s equally important to build connections through engaging events where neighbors can meet, fostering bonds that improve awareness and visibility in our neighborhoods.

The Farmers Market and Vendors in the Park have been a huge hit all month, and the Klassic Car Show enjoyed fantastic weather and an even more fantastic turnout. This past weekend, the Church Street Festival brought together vendors, exhibitors, and our community to celebrate the lovely weather and the rich history of our city.

Looking Ahead: As summer break winds down, please remember to drive carefully. Children will be out playing, making the most of their remaining summer days before school resumes. And as a helpful reminder: if you see a bus flashing red lights, it means stop in all directions. Let’s keep our kids and community safe.

Thank you all for your continued support and participation in making our community vibrant and safe.

Pavings Happening!

A big thank you to our Public Works Department for coordinating the resurfacing of roads in our small city. Say goodbye to those nasty potholes and hello to smooth surfaces! While some of the resurfacing is a temporary fix, we’re eagerly awaiting state approval for larger repaving projects that will provide a more permanent solution for our most worn-out roads.
