MAYOR’S REPORTS
City council met on March 11 at City Hall to swear in the recently elected public office holders including myself, Chad Boudreau, and re-elected Tim Smith. During the mayor’s report, the board members cited a few safety concerns and provided accolades to Public Works for their fast response to some infrastructure problems.
CITY PROJECTS
- Paving The City Manager and Public Works Director are continuing to work with the state on a paving plan for St. Albans this summer. Every summer, the city rotates through road improvements based on their need and age. Once the plan is confirmed, the details will be shared with the community.
- Expansion of Policing Services to St. Albans Town Starting July 1st, as per a previously signed agreement, the St. Albans police force will extend its patrolling and servicing to St. Albans Town. This agreement facilitates cooperation between the two jurisdictions, allowing officers from either location to respond to requests for support or backup when necessary. For further details on this agreement, please refer to the article in the Saint Albans Messenger dated 12/5/2023. Recently council voted to hire 4 new officers to SAPD in preparation for this extended service.
