Greetings, I’m Erik Johnson, your city council candidate for Ward 5 in Saint Albans, Vermont. From a young age, I’ve been inspired to contribute to our community. Following my mother’s example, I’ve dedicated my time to various organizations like the Franklin County Humane Society, Martha’s Kitchen, and the Community Emergency Response Team. This commitment has led me to serve on the boards of organizations such as the Design Advisory Board, Saint Albans for the Future (Downtown Board), and as a Boy Scout Leader.
For over 10 years, I proudly volunteered as an EMT, responding to the needs of our community in times of crisis. My experience in emergency medical services has deepened my understanding of the importance of swift, compassionate action during challenging moments.
My involvement in community planning, and supporting non-profits through events has shaped my belief in the importance of active participation. I’m not one to sit still for long, especially when there’s an opportunity to engage with neighbors and make a positive impact.
My professional journey as a photographer, marketing strategist, communications specialist, and graphic designer reflects my dedication to community building. While the graphic designer aspect might not involve direct interaction, it has allowed me to assist organizations like the Downtown Saint Albans Website and the St. Albans Free Library Website, along with creating graphics for various local events.
My passion for community and dedication to helping neighbors have brought me to this pivotal moment. Running for city council is the next step in my journey to continue supporting our city. I aim to guide us through challenges, celebrate our successes, and amplify the voices of our residents.
