WARDLY NEWS
JULY 2025 🌞

It’s July, folks! I hope summer’s treating you well so far. We’ve had a couple scorchers, but overall the weather’s been kind—and just in time for next weekend’s Summer Block Party!

Join us Saturday, July 12 from Noon to 3 PM for music, games, and good food! (Details below.)

🌳 Big shoutout to our Public Works crew, who’ve been busy keeping our city looking sharp. The new port-o-let building in Taylor Park is complete—providing clean, discreet restroom access for events, while keeping that signature park charm intact. They’ve also repainted the flagpole and made repairs to the bandstand railings.

☀️ And if you haven’t been through the park lately, you’re missing out! From the Farmers Market to Music in the Park and other family-friendly events, there’s something happening nearly every week.

Come out, enjoy the vibe, and be part of what makes our city special.

📢 CITY NEWS 📢

FEDERAL STREET LIGHTS
As part of the development agreement for the old Fonda property, new traffic lights have been installed at the intersection of Federal Street and Lower Newton. These lights will eventually be synchronized with the Main Street signals to help ease congestion and keep traffic moving smoothly through the city. The project also brings a new addition to our street network—Federal Street Extension. This new road runs from the intersection at the new lights up to the railroad dispatch building at the end of the street, improving access and connectivity in the area.

JOIN A BOARD #GetInvolved
The most effective City Councils depend on commissions and advisory groups to provide guidance that aligns with our community’s desires and needs. Information about these boards can be found on the city website here: http://stalbansvt.com/boards. We’re continually looking for motivated individuals who want to become more involved in our city. Every month I attempt to highlight upcoming events, activities, and community opportunities that are open to the public, are hosted by a non-profit organization or city department, and don’t hold any political or religious biases.

🏛 CITY BOARD HIGHLIGHT 🏛

Every month I highlight one of our amazing city boards and commissions whose work helps make our city a better place to live. This month, I’m excited to feature Saint Albans for the Future (Downtown Board).

The Downtown Board plays a key role in shaping the energy and direction of our city’s core. As both the advisory group for the City’s Downtown Program and the Board of Directors for *St. Albans for the Future* (our nonprofit downtown organization), this board doesn’t just focus on development and revitalization—they help bring our downtown to life. From organizing amazing events that draw crowds to supporting projects that make our downtown more inviting, the Downtown Board helps ensure St. Albans stays vibrant, welcoming, and full of activity year-round.
